2005 USA Team Trials Contest

The 2005 United States F3C World Team trials were held October 8th and 9th at the Cain Ridge Park RC Complex in Nashville, Tennessee. The CD for the event was Tim Diperi.  Despite the less than favorable initial weather reports due to several Hurricanes making their way up from Florida, the weather cooperated throughout the event.

The original dates for the event were to be September 17th-19th, but several devastating Hurricanes hit Florida and the Southern States the 2 weeks prior, so it was decided to postpone the contest so that all pilots and judges would have the ability to attend and compete.

The weather during the trials was the most calm that I have ever experienced at an event! The calm conditions really put a considerable amount of pressure on the pilots as each mistake would be amplified to the judges. Perfect flights were a must, no wind to help you cover your mistakes!

After 7 official rounds of competition flight, the following individuals earned a position to represent the United States as the

Please Help Support the 2005 USA Team

Youngblood, Mann, and Sabato will represent the USA at the upcoming 2005 World F3C Heli Championships to be held August 4th through the 14th in Zamora, Spain. The event will be held at the private Zamora RC Aero Club flying site.

As you can imagine, sending 3 Pilots and support staff to this event is not an easy task financially. Although the AMA and corporate sponsors help with these expenses, the Team is also working to raise funds in the form of Apparel and Raffle ticket sales.
